St. Paul Figure Skating Club Pre-Academy Classes

Everyone Can Learn to Skate!
**Please read thoroughly and then scroll down to register**

Due to the Covid-19 rules and regulations set forth by Ramsey County and the St. Paul FSC, we have had to work to adapt the format of what used to be our Learn to Skate and Preschool class structures. We are excited to announce that we have some new small group offerings that might be suitable for your skaters!

Formerly known as our Learn to Skate classes, our PreAcademy classes are great for learning both basic skating skills and more advanced skills in a group setting. St. Paul FSC offers classes from preschoolers to adults. We also offer classes for hockey skaters to enhance their skating skills. All classes are geared toward making skaters feel comfortable and challenged on the ice.

All skaters registering for any of the below classes MUST have a valid US Figure Skating or Learn to Skate membership. You can renew or register for a Learn to Skate membership ($16) here:
https://learntoskateusa.com (step-by-step instructions are outlined below).

Registration for our spring session PreAcademy and Chaperone/Skater classes is now available online: clients.mindbodyonline.com

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Pre-Academy Classes
The Pre-Academy Classes (formerly our LTS classes) are great for our younger skaters who are able to stand up and move around by themselves on the ice. These classes are recommended for any skater who is able to stand up on their own, up to and including the previous Basic 3 LTS level.

Skaters will be sorted into small group pods based on their age and ability on their first day of class. Over the course of an hour, these small groups will move around the ice to different learning stations and coaches. The coach at each station will focus on different skating skills.

The price for the Pre Academy 1-hour skating skill classes are $105 for the spring session.

•    Helmets are strongly encouraged and required for beginning skaters.
•    Space is extremely limited due to Covid-19 rules and regulations.
•    MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED.
•    ONE chaperone per skater is allowed into the building to help tie skates upon entry.

Hockey Skating Skills:
There will also be a hockey-specific skating skills class designed to help skaters sharpen the skating skills they need for hockey. Skaters will be sorted into small group pods based on their age and ability on the first day of class. Over the course of an hour, these small groups will move around the ice to different learning stations and coaches. The coach at each station will focus on a different hockey skating skill. Due to Covid-19 rules and regulations, coaches are not allowed to assist skaters if they fall down. Chaperones are invited onto the ice to help assist their young skaters. This class is not intended to teach skating skills to adults, but rather, allow a chaperone onto the ice to help facilitate learning for our youngest skaters. These small group lessons will be at Pleasant Arena.
